Suzuki has unveiled the new Ertiga at the Indonesia Internationsal Motor Show 2018.
Suzuki has unveiled the next-gen Ertiga MPV at the Indonesia International Motor Show 2018. The new Maruti Ertiga 2018 features an all-new design language as compared to the outgoing model and looks more premium and elegant.
The new Maruti Ertiga brings in a host of changes to the design, features, platform and mechanical components. The 2018 Ertiga has also grown in dimension and is wider, taller and longer as compared to the current-gen model. So, here's all you need to know about the new Maruti Ertiga 2018.
Design
The new Maruti Ertiga sports an all-new design with a revamped front end. The front fascia features a new grille with chrome inserts, newly designed headlamps, sporty bumper with triangular fog lamp housing and a central air dam.
The side profile of the next-gen Ertiga features a prominent shoulder line running across the door handles and integrates into the tail lamp cluster. The MPV also gets a floating roof design which adds to the looks of the new Maruti Ertiga.
The rear profile of the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is elegant and looks more premium as compared to the currently sold model. The new Ertiga gets a split L-shaped tail light cluster, LED high mount stop lamp, and a redesigned tailgate and bumper.
Interior
The interior of the all-new Maruti Ertiga features light beige dashboard with faux wood inserts. Other prominent features of the interior include a 6.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, newly designed leather-wrapped steering wheel with wooden inserts and a new instrument cluster.
The interior also gets a lot of storage spaces and 60:40 split middle row seats and 50:50 split third-row seats. The boot space has also increased thanks to the increased length.
Features
The next-gen Ertiga comes loaded with features such as projector headlamps, fog lamps, electrically foldable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, new alloy wheels and engine start/stop button.
Safety
The safety features of the new Ertiga include dual front airbags, electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts and rear parking sensors.
Specifications
The Indonesia-spec all-new Maruti Ertiga draws power from a new 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine producing 102bhp and 138Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic gearbox. The India-spec model could feature the same 1.3-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The new Ertiga is based on the HEARTECT platform which also underpins the new Maruti Swift and the Ignis. The new Ertiga is lighter and we expect the MPV to return an improved mileage.
Thoughts On The Next-Gen Maruti Ertiga MPV
The new Maruti Ertiga looks premium with the all-new design language. The new Ertiga has been spotted on Indian roads and the next-gen MPV might be launched in India in 2018. With the utility vehicle space growing in India, Maruti Suzuki has hit the sweet spot with the new design of the next-gen Ertiga.
