New Honda CR-V 2018 Launch LIVE Updates: Honda Car India is all set to launch the latest version of their seven-seater SUV - the 2018 Honda CR-V. The new Honda CR-V brings significant changes to the outgoing model in terms of both aesthetics and mechanicals. For the first time ever, the Honda CR-V will be available with a diesel engine.

The 2018 Honda CR-V was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2018, held back in February. In terms of aesthetics, the new Honda CR-V showcases a design language similar to all the recently-launched products from the Japanese automotive brand.

The new CR-V is now 47mm longer and 35mm wider than before. The wheelbase has also gone up by 40mm. As per reports, the 2018 Honda CR-V will be offered only in a single trim with three powertrain options.

Coming to the engines, the latest Honda CR-V can be opted with either a 1.6-litre diesel or a 2.0-litre petrol unit. The new diesel powerplant makes 118bhp and 300Nm of torque while the petrol motor is good for 152bhp and 189Nm. The diesel engine will come mated to a 9-speed automatic which sends the power to either the front wheels or all four wheels.

As for the petrol engine, the transmission system will only be a CVT unit; the same as on most other Honda products on sale. However, the diesel variant is expected to fetch more sales.

The new Honda CR-V is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 26 – 30 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Once launched, it will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
