New-Gen Audi A8 India Launch Details Revealed
German automaker Audi's flagship sedan, the A8 will finally hit the Indian shores. Yes, CarandBike reports that the next-gen Audi A8 will be launched in the Indian market by the first half of 2019. The new Audi A8 was expected to be launched in the country in 2018, but now the launch has been delayed.
The information was revealed by Head of Audi India, Rahil Ansari on the sidelines of the launch of the Audi Q5 petrol in the country. Ansari stated that the next-gen A8 sedan will be launched in the Indian market within next 12 months. We can expect Audi to launch the new A8 in the first half of 2019.
The fourth-gen Audi A8 was revealed in July 2017 and later it was showcased at the Audi Summit in Barcelona. Audi has been testing the next-gen A8 in India to collect data on the performance of the car in the Indian conditions.
The next-gen Audi A8 is based on the Prologue concept and sports an aggressive and bold design language. The sedan features an upright front end, a high shoulder line, and a slightly inclined rear end.
The exterior design of the next-gen Audi A8 is complemented by signature single-frame chrome grille, Matrix LED headlamps and sporty tail lamps with OLED technology.
The interior of the new Audi A8 also gets a host of changes and gets smart and modern features. The next-gen A8 features an improved infotainment system and also gets Audi Virtual cockpit as standard. Almost everything can be accessed using the two screens on the centre console and it hardly gets any buttons or knobs.
The new-gen Audi A8 is also offered with an optional relaxation seat with a footrest on the front of the passenger seat.
In the global market, the new Audi A8 is offered with three engine options: a 3-litre V6 petrol, a 3-litre V6 diesel and a bigger 4-litre V8 engine. The India-spec Audi A8 will get all the three engine but the V6 petrol and diesel engine will be introduced first. The engine also gets a mild hybrid technology with a 48-volt electrical system.

Audi will finally launch the next-gen A8 sedan in the Indian market after a delay of almost a year. The fourth-gen A8 is the flagship sedan from the German automaker and comes with a host of improvements to the design and features. The Audi A8 is expected to hit the Indian shores in the first half of 2019.
