Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 & 200 d Urban Sport Launched; Prices Start At Rs 35.99 Lakh
Mercedes-Benz India has launched a new version of their entry-level CLA sedan — the CLA Urban Sport — at Rs 35.99 lakh and Rs 36.99 lakh, for the 200 (petrol) and 200 d (diesel) variants, respectively. The Mercedes-Benz CLA Urban Sport comes with improved aesthetics and new features while mechanically remaining identical to the regular model.
The new CLA Urban Sport comes in a new Cosmos Black paint finish which makes a car look unique in all lighting conditions. Besides that, there aren't many changes on the exterior.
Coming to the rear profile, the new Mercedes-Benz CLA Urban Sport sports a carbon look-alike ducktail spoiler. Other than that, the new Urban Sport showcases the existing highlights of the Mercedes-Benz CLA such as the LED lighting units, five-spoke alloy wheels and frameless doors.
However, on the inside, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Urban Sport comes with a host of new features. The sedan is equipped with dual-zone climate control dubbed as ‘Mercedes-Benz Thermotronic'. Rear centre vents have also been added.
Besides that, there is a new set of floor mats and illuminated door sills with a ‘Sports' tag. A ‘Sports' badge is also fitted on the dashboard.
Speaking at the launch event, Roland Folger, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India shared, "The CLA remains a key product in our New Generation Cars portfolio and has created a benchmark for sporty design and performance. The new CLA Urban Sport offers enhanced luxury and comfort and add a sporty appeal that is hard to miss. It is essentially an illustration of dynamic design that seamlessly embodies an intelligent combination of functionality and agility in a modern coupé design. The CLA has been instrumental in conveying Mercedes-Benz's new design language of sensual purity and has made a place of its own in the hearts and minds of many young patrons and enthusiasts, who tend to arrive in style."
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit which makes 184bhp and 300Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine on the CLA 200 d makes 136bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both engines come mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The regular model itself accountsfor a good portion of the company's total sales in the country and the Urban Sport could increase it further.
