Maserati Levante SUV Launched In India
Maserati Levante launched in India. Prices for the new Maserati Levante SUV start at Rs 1.45 crore ex-showroom (India). The first-ever Maserati SUV is offered in two variants: GranLusso and GranSport. The new Levante is available at all three dealers in India, one in Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi each.
While the international-spec Maserati Levante is available with both 3.0-litre petrol and diesel engine, the India model is available only in the diesel guise. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel unit develops 271bhp and 600Nm of torque which also powers the Ghibli and the Quattroporte as well. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The V6 diesel engine helps sprint the Levante to 100kmph in just 6.9 seconds from a standstill and boasts a top speed of 230kmph. The Maserati SUV also receives an optional 'Active Sound' exhaust that varies the exhaust note based on different drive modes. The driving modes are Auto Normal, Auto Sport and Auto-Manual as well as the Auto Off-Road mode that raises the ride height of the Levante.

The Maserati Levante SUV boasts of other superior mechanical features which include traditional hydraulic steering, torque vectoring chassis and Q4 all-wheel-drive system. The new Levante is built on lightweight materials, which has helped in attaining a perfect 50:50 weight distribution ratios thereby achieving the segment's lowest centre of gravity.
Inside the new Levante, the SUV features Maserati Touch Control system, which has been thoroughly refreshed to offer added functions with the 8.4" high-resolution screen and rotary control on the central tunnel.
The interior of the Maserati Levante comes with premium leather, fine woods, platinum-effect metals, handcrafted contrast stitching, among others. Other optional upgrades include sound systems designed in association with Bowers & Wilkins or Harman Kardon.
Among the safety features, the Levante SUV is equipped with advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) package, which comprises new active functions such as highway assist (HA), lane keeping assist (LKA), active blind spot assist (ABSA) and traffic sign recognition (TSR).
Bojan Jankulovski, Head of Operations, Maserati India, said, "The introduction of 2018 Levante is our commitment to satisfy the significantly increasing demand for premium SUVs in India. The design, exclusivity and performance are the key characteristics when describing this new Maserati; and will turn out to be a distinguishing factor for the Trident in the luxury SUV space."

The Maserati Levante is the first SUV from the carmaker, and by launching the vehicle India, the company is quite aggressive in its offerings for the country. With the luxury SUV segment gaining significant momentum in India, Maserati has launched the Levante SUV at the right time.
