Yes, Maruti Alto has crossed 35 lakh sales milestone in cumulative sales in India. This was stated by Maruti Suzuki. The sales of the Maruti Alto has grown by six percent in 2017-18 and accounts for market share of 33 percent in the same period in its segment. Nearly 44 percent of the sales comes from young buyers with less than 35 years of age. With the new design and features the Alto has attracted young buyers in the country.
Currently, the Maruti Alto is offered with two engine options, 800cc and 1-litre engine. The 800cc petrol engine produces 47bhp and 69Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The 1-litre engine churns out 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT transmission.
The Maruti Alto also features several premium features such as power steering, front power windows, internally adjustable ORVMs, stylish headlamps and integrated stereo. The top-spec variant of the hatchback also comes driver side airbag.
The sales of the Maruti Alto has been constant due to the excellent sales network of Maruti Suzuki in the country. With the wide sales and service network and with low maintenance cost, the Maruti Alto has been a choice of first time car buyers in the country.

According to a recent report, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to introduce BS-VI compliant Alto in India by before the April 2020 deadline. Maruti Suzuki could also introduce a new design language to compete against its modern rivals.
