Mahindra Treo Electric Three-Wheeler Launched; Prices Start At Rs 1.36 Lakh
Mahindra has launched the Treo electric two-wheeler at a starting price of Rs 1.36 lakh ex-showroom (Bangalore). The new Mahindra Treo electric three-wheeler is available in four variants: SFT, HRT, Yaari SFT and Yaari HRT. The Yaari models start at Rs 1.36 lakh while the regular Treo trims come at Rs 2.22 lakh.
The Mahindra Treo is aimed to be a clean and silent mobility solution for the city. The design remains identical to a conventional three-wheeler or what we dearly call as an "auto-rickshaw". However, the Mahindra Treo looks a bit more interesting in the blue/white paint scheme.
Coming back to the variants, the regular Treo can seat four (including the driver) while the Yaari can accompany five. SFT stands for soft top models and HRT;hard tops.
The Mahindra Electric Treo is powered by a 7.47kWh Li-ion battery which makes 5.4kW and 30Nm of torque. The battery can be charged to its full capacity in three hours and 50 minutes. The driving range is claimed to be 170 kilometres and has a top speed of 45km/h.
Meanwhile, the Mahindra Treo Yaari has a 3.69kWh Li-ion battery, producing 2kW and 17.5Nm of torque. The Treo Yaari has a claimed range of 120km on a full charge (takes two-and-a-half hours). The top speed stands at 24.5km/h.
Mahindra Electric offers a 50,000km / 24-month warranty programme for the Treo, while the Treo Yaari gets a 30,000km / 18-month scheme. The battery is maintenance-free for five years and its capability is enhanced through regenerative braking. Furthermore, Mahindra Electric claims that a top-up for a short period (maybe during lunch break) can give a range of 32 kilometres.
There are three driving modes on offer: Low, Medium and High. Features such as wipers and spare wheel come as standard, while GPS is available as an optional extra. GPS-enabled Treo models will be better-suited for fleet operators and cab services.
