Mahindra S201 Compact-SUV Spied Testing Again
Mahindra’s upcoming sub-four-metre compact SUV, codenamed the S201 spied testing again. The S201 SUV spied showcases production headlamp and tail lights.
Mahindra's upcoming compact SUV, the S201 has been spotted testing again. New spy images, showcase a near-production version of the S201 SUV.
The Mahindra S201 is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli SUV. Spy images of the car showcase a heavily camouflaged body. However, the SUV can be seen with a near production-ready front section, including the headlamps.

The front of the SUV features wraparound headlamps with black accents. The SUV will also come with projector lights, along with integrated LED DRL and turn indicators.
The front grille also shows a hint of chrome detailing. The bumper will feature a large central air dam, along with horizontal fog lamps.

The sides and rear of the S201 can be seen with sporty black alloy wheels, roof rails and large ORVMs. The images also show the new sweptback tail lamps with integrated turn signals.

Previous spy pictures of the Mahindra S201, also showcased high-mounted stop lamps as well as a spoiler.
The interiors of the new sub-four-metre SUV is expected to get a dual-tone cabin.
Other features expected on the upcoming Mahindra S201 SUV: large touchscreen infotainment system, twin-pod instrument cluster, new steering wheel, engine start/stop button and cruise control.

Engine specifications on the new S201 are yet to be revealed. However, the Mahindra S201 is expected to come with the existing 1.2 and 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options, respectively. The transmission will be handled by a five-speed gearbox, with a possible AMT unit offered optionally.
Thoughts On The Upcoming Mahindra S201

The upcoming S201 will be the third sub-four-metre SUV offering from Mahindra after the TUV300 and the NuvoSport. The Mahindra S201 once launched will rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
