Lexus has revealed the LF-1 Limitless concept model at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The LF-1 Limitless concept looks like the next-gen LX, but the company states that it has potential to be the flagship luxury crossover of the Japanese automaker.

The Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept is designed in collaboration with CALTY Design Research in California and features an aggressive exterior design with cuts and crease throughout the body. The vehicle looks sharp and edgy and could be an overkill for some people.

The LF-1 Limitless concept is shod with 22-inch alloy wheels and measures 5,014mm long, 1,986mm wide 1,605mm tall. The concept model is slightly longer and wider as compared to the LX and also rides a bit lower. The wheelbase is also slightly shorter than the LX and stands at 2,974mm.

    On the design front, the spindle grille on the LF-1 Limitless concept is the core element of the overall design similar to other Lexus production models. The front grille features a 3-D design with colours developed by CALTY radiating away from the central emblem. There is no chrome on the grille, instead uses LED lighting, it also misses out on conventional ORVMs.

    The front fascia of the LF-1 Limitless concept features a fender line that extends from the bonnet all the way to the bottom of the C-pillar. The overall bodywork is complex with numerous cuts and crease. The overall design of the concept renders a bold and powerful stance to the LF-1 Limitless concept.

    The rear profile of the concept model sports split spoilers, sculpted tail lights running across the tailgate, raked windshield which extends to the rear seats and faux skid plates which gives the concept a rugged look.

    The interior of the LF-1 Limitless concept is simple and futuristic at the same time. It features fully-digital instrument cluster, wide touchscreen infotainment system, touch-sensitive buttons and 4D navigation system. The passenger entertainment system comprises of screens attached to the front seat backrests.

    Coming to the technical specifications, Lexus states that as the name, the powertrain possibilities are limitless. The LF-1 Limitless concept could draw power from a fuel cell, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, petrol or diesel internal combustion engine, or even all-electric powertrain.

    The Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept previews the future of luxury crossover from the stable of the Japanese automaker. The overall design is futuristic with sharp and edgy bodywork. But, Lexus has not confirmed about the production details of the concept model. We expect the LF-1 Limitless concept to replace the LX, which has been on the market for quite some time.
