All variants of the new Kia Stinger GT make use of an eight-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive is also available as an option on the Kia Stinger GT.
The Kia Stinger GT is based on a shortened version of the chassis found on the Hyundai Genesis and measures in at 4,831mm long, 1,869mm wide, and 1,400mm tall. The wheelbase of the Kia Stinger GT is 2,906mm long.
Kia Stinger GT Design & Features
The Kia Stinger GT's design borrows most of its cues from GT Concept from the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, the production car has sprouted two more doors.
Up front, the LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs flank a stretched out version of Kia's tiger-nose grille. The front bumper features a wide air dam in the centre and vertical air intakes on either side. The slightly bulging bonnet features air vents on either side as well. The wider and lowered stance compared to its competition from Germany (BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4) add to the sporty feel of the car.
The sides of the new Stinger GT look clean and the gran turismo sedan sits on 19-inch alloy wheels shod with 225/40 (front) and 255/35 (rear) tyres from Michelin. The rear-end of the Kia Stinger GT looks aggressive as well with quad tailpipes, and unique LED tail light setup.
Inside, the Kia Stinger GT gets low-slung and contoured bucket seats up front while the rear seats can accommodate three adults if the need arises. The seats are upholstered in Nappa leather in the top-spec model.
The 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the Kia Stinger GT features satellite navigation along with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and is connected to a 15-speaker audio setup from Harman/Kardon Audio system. Safety features include a host of airbags, ABS, ESC, hill-start assist, and autonomous emergency braking among many others.
DriveSpark's Thoughts On The Kia Stinger GT Showcased Ahead of Auto Expo 2018
The Kia Stinger GT is the pinnacle of the South Korean carmaker's lineup and is the fastest and most powerful car to bear the Kia badge. However, India's tax setup on luxury cars imported as CBUs and Kia's focus on going mainstream means that the Stinger GT may be a pipe dream for the country's car spotters.
