Mercedes-Benz India has announced its sales numbers for the year 2017 and has registered sales of 15,330 units during January - December 2017 period. With impressive sales in 2017, the luxury carmaker has retained the title as India's largest-selling luxury car brand for the 3rd consecutive year.
Mercedes-Benz also remained the leading global premium car brand in 2017 by selling 2,289,344 units growing by 10 percent.
Talking about the company's performance in India in 2017, this is the first time Mercedes-Benz has surpassed 15,000 units in India also being the only luxury car brand to achieve the feat in the country.
Mercedes-Benz registered a 15.87 percent growth compared to the sales in 2016 by selling 2,099 units more in 2017. Much of the credit comes from launching new products almost every month and is also boasts of a comprehensive product lineup in the segment.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class long-wheelbase variant witnessed an exceptional demand in 2017 while retaining the tag of the Best Executive Sedan of the country. The GLC, GLE and GLS range of SUVs continue to maintain the top slots in the SUV segment for the 2nd year in a row.
Even its top-end AMGs witnessed double-digit growth in 2017 reflecting India as a lucrative premium car market in the world.

2017 was a successful year for us, and the decision to introduce the Long Wheelbase E-Class was strategic and highly successful. We are in particular very satisfied with the strong growth in volumes in the C-Class, E-Class and the SUV segment which remains the mainstay of our portfolio. Clocking more than 15,000 sales units is one of the first-of-its-kind achievements for Mercedes-Benz in the luxury car segment in India, and we are glad to achieve them and spearhead the industry, firmly."
With a broad product lineup in India, Mercedes-Benz India has a car for every requirement, especially in the luxury car segment. Car buyers in India can choose from as many as 20 different models. The company will continue to launch new vehicles in the segment in 2018 with a range of AMG models with a special focus on emerging Tier II and Tier III markets in India.
