Auto Expo 2018: Hyundai i20 Active (Crossover) Facelift Launch Details Revealed
Hyundai i20 Active facelift launch in India at the Auto Expo 2018.
The Hyundai i20 Active crossover currently leads the segment in India, but with other competitors set to launch their versions in India, Hyundai has to refresh the i20 Active. That is going to change with the Hyundai i20 Active facelift launch scheduled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 reports carandbike.com.
Upon launch, the i20 Active facelift will face stiff competition from the newly unveiled Ford Freestyle, Figo based crossover. To keep its position as a segment leader, Hyundai will revise the styling and features of the i20 Active and will follow Hyundai's current design philosophy.
The Hyundai i20 Active is based on the i20 hatchback, which is set for a facelift as well, will share similar design cues but with crossover characteristics such as roof rails, skid plates, plastic body cladding on the sides as well as higher ground clearance.

The facelifted i20 Active will feature the new trapezoidal front grille, blackened honeycomb mesh and sweptback headlights. The crossover will get projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights, new fog lamp housing, new alloy wheels among others.
The most prominent change will be on the inside. The i20 Active facelift features are expected to be upgraded with larger touchscreen infotainment system which is expected to support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link option. With regards to dimensions, the new i20 Active facelift will continue to be the same and will be under the sub-four-metre mark.
Mechanically, the Hyundai i20 Active facelift is expected to be same as the current model. The current i20 Active is available in both petrol and diesel engines. While the 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 82bhp and 115Nm of torque and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 1.4-litre diesel engine develops 89bhp and 220Nm of torque and comes paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Thoughts About The Hyundai i20 Active Facelift
The report of the Hyundai i20 Active facelift launch scheduled at the Auto Expo 2018 comes at a time when there is a sudden rise in the popularity of this segment. Ford has just unveiled the Freestyle with a new 1.2-litre petrol engine along with the existing 1.5-litre diesel unit. The expected price of Hyundai i20 facelift will be between Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh depending upon the variant.
