2018 Ford Mustang Facelift Spied In India; Launch Soon
2018 Ford Mustang facelift spied in India, and the launch is expected by the end of this year.
Ford launched its pony car, the Mustang muscle car in India back in July 2016 and it currently retails at Rs 71 lakh. Now the American carmaker is all set to launch the Mustang's new version in the country, and its recent spy pics in India confirms its imminent launch.
The 2018 Ford Mustang facelift spied in India is the newest avatar of the muscle car. The new Mustang was spied by Automobili Ardent in India and it gets a revised front end featuring a lower hood, slimmer LED headlamps with three LED daytime running lights strips. The 2018 Ford Mustang model also features re-profiled front grille and bumper with integrated turn signals.
At the rear, the Mustang facelift gets a revised taillight design and receives a C-shaped profile. On the inside, the new Mustang's interior is quite similar to the outgoing model but now is available with a customisable 12-inch digital instrument cluster. The muscle car now comes with a newly designed alloy wheels, and Ford has added a new colour option on the 2018 Mustang.

Some of the safety features such as distance alert, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, pre-collision warning and automatic emergency braking are now available as optional add-ons. Also as an option is the Active exhaust, while the MagneRide magnetorheological dampers are part of the optional Performance package.
Additionally, the 2018 Ford Mustang model now employs a cross-axis joint in the rear suspension and a new stabiliser bar along with new shock absorbers.
As for the engine specifications of the new Ford Mustang facelift, the muscle car is powered by a V6 2.3-litre, 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine and a 5.0-litre V8 with direct and port injection. While the EcoBoost unit produces 306bhp and 475Nm of torque, the V8 engine churns out 454bhp and 569Nm of torque.
For the global market, the 2018 Ford Mustang facelift is offered with either an updated 6-speed manual gearbox with a twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel or a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. For India, we expect Ford to offer the V8-powered Mustang GT which is married to the 10-speed automatic gearbox.
