The facelift model of the Ford EcoSport was launched back in November 2017 and was available in five variants: Ambiente, Trend, Trend+, Titanium and Titanium+. Ford will now add a sixth variant as its new top-end, the Titanium S.
The exteriors of the new Titanium S variant features smoked-effect projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL), black roof rails, a black cladding around the fog lamps and a new set of sporty alloy wheels.
On the rear section, the EcoSport receives a black roof-mounted spoiler with integrated LED brake lights along with the ‘Titanium S' badging.
On the inside, the Ford EcoSport Titanium S variant receives a bunch of changes which include black interiors with orange highlights and inserts on the dashboard, centre console, door panels, upholstery and steering wheel.
Apart from the highlights, the new variant also features the all-important electronic sunroof, along with the new floating touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with Ford's SYNC 3.
The twin-pod instrument cluster and the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel are carried over from the standard model.
Mechanically, the Ford EcoSport Titanium S variant will remain unchanged. Powered by the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine producing 99bhp and 205Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre petrol engine from the ‘Dragon Series' churning out 123bhp and 150Nm of torque. Both engines come with the choice of either manual or automatic transmissions.
Ford India has recently increased the prices of the EcoSport between Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the variant, while also adding additional features.
The new features include rear parking sensors, speed sensing auto door lock and passenger seatbelt reminder as standard across all the variants.
Thoughts On The Ford EcoSport Titanium S Variant
Ford dealerships have already received the new Titanium S variant, indicating a launch very soon. The Ford EcoSport takes on rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Renault Duster.
With the addition of all the new features including the sunroof and the six-speed manual gearbox, Ford hopes to revive the sales figures of the EcoSport model. The EcoSport has recently been seeing a constant reduction in its sales numbers because of the strong competition in its segment.
