Exclusive: The 2018 Kia Cerato Spotted In India For The First Time — To Rival The Hyundai Verna

This is the first time the sedan has been seen in the country. Kia Motors has already announced that it will enter the Indian market by mid-2019. The first model to be introduced by Kia in the country will be the production-spec SP Concept SUV, likely to be named the Trazor.

The front fascia of the Cerato has a stylish appearance with Kia's signature butterfly grille. The front also gets projector headlamps with sleek LED Daytime Running Lamps.

The front bumper houses the fog lamps, which flanks the large central air dam. The bumper also features air vents on either end, providing a sporty character to the Kia sedan.

The side profile of the Cerato can be seen with body coloured door handles and integrated turn signals on the ORVMs. The spy images also show the Cerato riding on 17-inch alloy wheels.

The rear section showcases the wraparound taillights intruding into the boot lid. The rear bumper also houses the sleek reflectors on either side.

Though the interiors of the sedan cannot be seen, we can expect it to come with a host of features. These Include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control and an electric sunroof.

Safety features on the Kia Cerato: ABS with EBD, Central Locking, Rear Parking Sensor, Reverse Parking Camera, Six Airbags and Hill Assist.

The Kia Cerato in India is expected to offer two engine options. This will be in the form of either a 1.6-litre petrol or a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel engine. Both engines will further be mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

Kia is ready to enter the Indian market in mid-2019. Although their first model will be an SUV, they are expected to be introducing more models within the next two years. The Kia Cerato in India will rival the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz.
