Auto Expo 2018: BMW M3 & M4 Launched In India. The BMW M4 coupe is priced at Rs 1.33 crore, while the M3 sedan is priced at Rs 1.30 crore (all prices ex-showroom, India). The new BMW M3 and M4 are the performance-oriented models of BMW's 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe lineup.
Both the BMW M4 and M3 in India get the competition package which adds more power to the engine along with a host of cosmetic features including a fixed spoiler on the M4 along with lightweight M Sport seats.
Powering the BMW M4 & M3 is a high revving 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine that produces 444bhp and 550Nm of torque. The engine (which redlines at 7,00rpm) sends power to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The BMW M3 & M4 sprint to 100kph in just 4.0-seconds and will continue accelerating till it tops out at 250kph. Opting for the Driver's package raises the electronic speed nanny's arm until the M4 or M3 hit 280kph.
The Competiton package also adds the Adaptive M Suspension setup to the M3 & M4 which BMW claims has been tuned to enhance the performance and handling of the two performance cars. The adaptive m Suspension brings new springs, dampers and anti-roll bars, along with reconfigured driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Sport+).
Both the BMW M3 and M4 come packed with a host of features including automatic start/stop function, brake energy regeneration, electric power steering, 50:50 weight distribution along with multiple airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) and Park Distance control.
In terms of design, the new M3 and M4 are a more aggressive version of the regular 3 Series and 4 Series cars. The M3 & M4 sit lower and to the ground and get revised bumpers while a high-gloss black finish is applied to the side window trim, window recess finishers, exterior mirror frames, BMW kidney grille, the side gills and the model badge on the tail. The cars also get the M sports exhaust system with quad tailpipes in black chrome which feature laps inside.
The interiors of the M3 and M4 are draped in leather with the large 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes support for Apple CarPlay along with Bluetooth/USB connectivity and 3D maps and can be controlled by touch or by using BMW's iDrive controller.
