Audi Hike Prices By 4 Percentage On Its Entire Lineup
Audi hike prices on all its models in the Indian portfolio. Prices on all models have gone up by 4 percent, translating to an increase in prices between Rs 1 - 9 lakhs depending on the model. Audi hik
Audi India announced today the hike in prices in its entire India lineup by 4 percent. The increase in prices will come into effect from April 1st, 2018. The increase in prices will range between Rs 1 - 9 lakhs depending on the model. Audi mentioned the rise in prices was due to the increased customs duty by the government under the Union Budget 2018 on CKD kits and fully-imported vehicles.
Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India stated that the increase in customs duty and the introduction of social welfare surcharge made the hike in prices inevitable. To minimise the impact of the price hike, Audi will be offering various finance schemes along with sales and service benefits.
Ansari also added, "While luxury car industry is undertaking several initiatives and investment to make the dream of owning a luxury vehicle more realistic for all, we also expect the government to support this industry. There is no doubt that increase in car sales would definitely help the Government in garnering more accumulated taxes".
Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley in the 2018 budget increased the customs duty of completely knocked down units of vehicles from 10 to 15 percent. The customs duty of parts/accessories of vehicles have also been raised from 7.5 to 15 percent.
Thoughts on Audi Hike In Prices
The Union Budget 2018 has made luxury car manufacturers to inevitably increase prices on all their Indian lineup. Audi is among the first to hike prices and we can expect more manufacturers to soon follow.
