World’s Leading Electric Vehicle Manufacturer Revealed
The world's leading electric vehicle manufacturer has been revealed and the manufacturer has outpaced Tesla. The American company retailed 25,000 units in the first quarter of 2017.
The electric vehicles are said to be the future of transport. More and more manufacturers are investing in the EV segment. Currently, only a few companies are offering electric cars. And the latest data reveals the world's leading EV maker.

In the first quarter of 2017, Renault-Nissan Alliance has retailed around 37,000 electric vehicles. That's more than the Tesla's 25,000 units in the same period. And the biggest surprise is that the Nissan Leaf outpaced the Tesla Model S.

The Nissan Leaf is the world's best-selling electric car in the first quarter of 2017. Nissan is all set to update the Leaf with an entirely new model. The car will be equipped with the autonomous ProPilot technology.

The best-selling electric cars in Europe are from the Renault-Nissan alliance. Renault Zoe tops the chart followed by the Leaf. The third position goes to Mitsubishi Outlander PHEW.

Considering the Outlander PHEW as a hybrid vehicle, many EV purists may question the matter. But without counting the hybrid SUV, the Renault-Nissan alliance still outsells the Tesla cars.

The main reason for Renault-Nissan alliance to dominate the EV segment is its product portfolio. Around 50,000 electric vans comprising Nissan ENV 200, Renault Kangoo ZE and Mitsubishi Minicab-MiEV are delivering goods around the globe.
