As per reports, Volvo Germany accidentally posted the teaser image of the XC40 on its Instagram account. The leaked image reveals the rear of the new premium small SUV.
The rear end of the XC40 features signature Volvo tail lights which stretch to the roof of the SUV. The image also reveals raked rear windshield, chrome exhaust tip, roof spoiler and split spoke alloy wheels.
The boot of the XC40 is slightly angled inward as opposed to the vertical design. The premium compact SUV is based on the Volvo 40.1 concept showcased in 2016 in Sweden. The SUV sits on the new CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform.
The XC40 is likely to be equipped with the new 1.5-litre and 2-litre petrol and diesel engines. A hybrid variant is also expected to be launched in the future. Recently Volvo also teased the interior elements to be used in the SUV.
Volvo is expected to launch the XC40 in the global market by the end of this year. The first small SUV from the Swedish automaker might hit the Indian shores in 2018.
