Volvo XC40 Leaked Ahead Of Debut
The Volvo XC40 has been leaked in a video ahead of its reveal.
Swedish auto major Volvo has recently teased its new small SUV, the XC40 and also revealed the launch date. But now an uncut video has been leaked on the internet which reveals the compact SUV ahead of its debut.
The Hungarian arm of Volvo Cars has accidentally uploaded a video that reveals the exterior and interior design of the XC40.

On the design front, the XC40 looks similar to the Volvo 40.1 concept which was showcased in 2016. The notable changes on the production-spec model are the traditional ORVMs and conventional door handles.

The interior of the XC40 features the same design language as its elder siblings, the XC60 and XC90. A large touchscreen infotainment system dominates the simple centre console. The overall design is more casual as compared to the bigger SUVs.

The XC40 will be the first product based on Volvo's Compact Modular Architecture. Volvo is tight-lipped about the engine details of the new small SUV. It is expected to feature a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine along with the four-cylinder Drive-E engines.

The top-of-the-range model will be a plug-in hybrid variant with a combination of three-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The hybrid XC40 will be sold under the T5 badge at a later date.

DriveSpark Thinks!
The XC40 will be the first small SUV from the stable of Volvo. The compact SUV is targeted towards young buyers across the globe. If Volvo plans to introduce the compact SUV in the Indian market, it will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLA and BMW X1.
