Spy Pics: Volkswagen's New Premium Cars For India Spied Testing
VW Passat and Tiguan were spotted testing in Maharashtra ahead of their launch in India.
Volkswagen had confirmed the launch of the Passat and Tiguan nearly a couple of years back. After all the setbacks, finally, the German auto giant is expected to launch the cars in the coming months.

Recently, the VW Tiguan and Passat were spotted testing by CarDekho in Maharashtra. After both the cars launch, they will boost up Volkswagen's premium car segment space. Both the cars will feature 2.0-litre diesel engines and also will be based on the company's MQB platform.

The Volkswagen Tiguan was unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo. The car will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine (power figures not yet specified) and is expected to come mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Other features on the car include VW's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system ( in the top-end variant), a touchscreen infotainment system, three-zone climate control, ventilated seats, LED headlights and LED tail lights. Once launched, the car will lock horns with the Hyundai Tucson.

On the other hand, the VW Passat, mechanically, will be offered with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It is expected to pump out around 174.58bhp of power and 350Nm of peak torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels by a six-speed DSG automatic transmission.

The Passat will be featuring - LED headlights and LED taillights, touchscreen infotainment, a sunroof, 9 airbags and climate control. Once launched the car will go up against the likes of the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord.
