Volkswagen India Appoints Steffen Knapp As Director Of Passenger Cars
Steffen Knapp will succeed Michael Mayer who recently took up the role of ‘Head of Sales and Marketing’ for Volkswagen Passenger Cars – China.
Volkswagen announced that it has appointed Steffen Knapp as Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India.
Steffen Knapp will succeed Michael Mayer who recently took up the role of 'Head of Sales and Marketing’ for Volkswagen Passenger Cars – China.
Steffen Knapp (48) has earlier held leadership positions at brands like SEAT and Ford in different parts of Europe. In his previous posts, he has been responsible for numerous strategic and managerial roles.
Knapp holds a Degree in Managerial Economics from European Business School, Schloss Reichartshausen (EBS), Oestrich-Winkel, Germany and American Graduate School of International Management, Arizona/USA.
Knapp, in his new role, will be reporting to Thierry Lespiaucq, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited and will be accountable for driving the passenger car market in India.
Volkswagen passenger cars in India is yet to set the sales chart on fire and is concerned about its future in the country. The company will be looking to Knapp to drive sales and increase its market share in the Indian market.
