Volkswagen Car Prices To Increase — Here Are The Details
Volkswagen car prices to increase by up to Rs 20,000.
German carmaker Volkswagen has announced it will increase prices of its cars by up to Rs 20,000 effective January 2018. The price increase will depend on the models across the company's product lineup in the country.
Volkswagen India product lineup includes entry-level Volkswagen Polo, Vento, Tiguan SUV, and the newly launched Passat sedan. The hike in prices has been attributed to several reasons including economic factors as well global commodity price fluctuations and local input cost.

Recently, Skoda Auto has also announced a price hike from January 2018 along with Isuzu and the others.
Commenting on the announcement, Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, "The price increase is essential on account of several external economic factors as well as fluctuations in the global commodity price and local input cost and is in line with the industry. The impact will be across the product range in India."

Carmakers look to clear their inventory by the end of December every year, and one of the strategies is to increase the prices of its cars in January. That said, from a customer point of view, December is the month where cars are much cheaper although a month difference can change the manufacturing year.
