Volkswagen Announces Driver Lineup For 2017 Ameo Cup
Volkswagen Motorsport India is all set to kick-start the 2017 Ameo Cup and has announced the driver lineup.
Volkswagen Motorsport India is all set to kick-start the 2017 Ameo Cup. The driver selection process for one make racing series has concluded, and the driver lineup has been announced.
Volkswagen Motorsport received around 620 entries, and 15 drivers were shortlisted after various stages. After being judged on different criteria such as fitness, driving skills, grasping and learning ability and discipline, final ten racers were selected for the 2017 season.

Eight drivers from previous seasons of Volkswagen Motorsport India's Vento Cup and Polo Cup will complete the grid with ten new drivers. The other two drivers are from Bangladesh. During the season international drivers will take part as guest drivers for a single round.
The grid for the 2017 Ameo Cup comprises of 20 fixed drivers. The final drivers of the 2017 season will undergo a Fitness Camp and a Pre-Season Testing before the first race of the year.

The Ameo Cup is a part of the 2017 MMSC FMSCI Indian Racing Championship. The season includes four rounds held at - Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore; Madras Motor Race Track, Chennai and Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida. The season will kick off on July 15, 2017, in Coimbatore.
Head of Volkswagen Motorsport India, Sirish Vissa said, "Each year we receive multiple entries from aspiring racers and it is our goal to develop and nurture such young racing talent in this country."
