Volkswagen Ameo Cup Racecar Spied With Huge Wings — Is The Vento Being Replaced?
The new Volkswagen Ameo Cup racecars were spotted in Chennai, suggesting a replacement for the Vento, along with a more powerful engine.
Volkswagen's Motorsport division has seen success over the years with the Polo and Vento Cup racecars, and of late, the Ameo Cup race cars have been spied by Car and Bike.

The cars were spotted testing at the racetrack in Chennai, and the carmaker took all measures to keep the wraps on. The Ameo Cup cars are expected to replace the Vento, but there has been no official announcement yet.

Powering the car could be a 1.4-litre TFSI engine, turbocharged and supercharged, which is expected to produce around 200bhp. The engine is expected to be mated to a 6-speed DSG gearbox with paddle shifters.

The cars spotted had a large rear spoiler, something which was absent on the Vento Cup cars. Other details include a FIA-spec roll cage, 5-point racing harness, MRF racing slicks, and larger brakes for all four wheels.

The Volkswagen Ameo Cup racecar is based on the regular Ameo, pictured in the image gallery below.
