Vikram Pawah Appointed President Of BMW Group India
Acting President Mr Frank Schloeder will return to BMW Group Headquarters in Germany where he will assume the position of Head of Business Steering -- luxury cars.
BMW Group India has announced that Mr Vikram Pawah has been appointed as its President effective March 1, 2017.
BMW Group India said in a press release that Mr Pawah brings more than five years of international experience both in theautomotive and non-automotive industry. He started his career at Jay Engineering Works, India.
He has also held various leadership positions within Honda Cars in India and Australia. Recently, he was the Managing Director of Harley-Davidson India.
Mr Frank Schloeder the current acting President, BMW Group India will return to BMW Group Headquarters in Germany, where he will assume position as the Head of Business Steering for luxury cars.
The company said that Mr Schloeder during his three-year assignment has held theposition of Director Marketing, where he effectively steered the BMW brand in India. During his tenure as acting President, BMW Group increased both its sales and market share in the Indian luxury car segment.
Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific and South Africa, BMW Group said that India is a growing market with great potential for mobility products and services.
He further added that Mr Pawah with his vast experience in the automotive industry and his country specific know-howwill bring excellent preconditions to strengthen their position in the market. The company would like to thank Mr Schloeder for his remarkable accomplishment and wished him the best for his new role.
Mr Pawah has graduated in Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Delhi University and holds an MBA in International and Strategic Management from Victoria University in Melbourne.
