Uber Central Launched In India; Businesses Can Rent Cabs Now
Uber's new service in India under its 'Uber for Business' (U4B) platform provides businesses with an option to rent cabs listed on the Uber platform to ferry their clients, customers and guests.
Uber has launched the 'Uber Central', a new service in India under its 'Uber for Business' (U4B) platform.
The Uber Central service offers businesses with an option to rent cabs listed on the Uber platform to shuttle their clients, customers and guests.

For example, a hotel providing pickup and drop services from the nearest airport now doesn't need to manage its fleet of cars and drivers. Rather, the hotel can book cabs for the guests via the Uber Central platform.

As per ET, the new service is Uber's first global one-to-many ride booking service which lets businesses manage various trips at the same time, all executed through a single user dashboard.

An operator can book a journey for their client, customer or guest by entering the contact details, pickup and drop off points and ride category on the Uber Central dashboard.

Once the booking is entered, the operator can track the ride on a real-time basis and view the expected time of arrival (ETA). Also, Uber Central gives businesses a choice to pay for the rides of their clients or customers.

Additionally, clients who take trips from the Uber Central platform don't require to have an Uber account or the company's smartphone app.

They will get details regarding the driver's name and contact number, licence plate number of the cab and vehicle make and model via an SMS. Also, the driver will call the client once the cab reaches the pickup point.
