2017 Toyota Vios Facelift Launched In Thailand — India Launch Imminent?
The new Vios facelift from Toyota Motor Corporation for Rs 11.76 lakh with four variants.
Toyota Motor Corporation has launched the new 2017 Vios facelift in Thailand with prices starting from Rs 609,000 (approx. Rs 11.76 lakh) to THB 789,000 (approx. Rs 15.23 lakh).
The new Vios facelift receives few changes from Toyota's design language including a redesigned front grille, projector headlamps with chrome accents, vertical LED daytime running lights and a larger air dam with fog lamps on either side.
As for the rear profile, the facelifted Vios features a chrome garnish for the tailgate and new tail lights.
On the inside, the new Vios facelift is adorned with a dual tone beige interior as standard and an all black theme is seen on the top variant of the new Vios.
Also seen are the updated instrument cluster, revised 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, climate control and steering mounted audio controls.
The new Vios facelift is powered by a 1.5-litre dual VVT-I petrol engine that churns out 106.5bhp and 140Nm of torque and comes paired with CVT gearbox - standard across all variants.
Toyota has been extensively testing the Vios for the Indian market and the launch is likely later this year or early 2018. Once launched, the Toyota Vios will compete with Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Hyundai Verna.
For India, Toyota will mostly power the Vios with both petrol and diesel versions. The same units which power the Etios could power the Vios as well. Also, the gearbox options will include both manual and CVT.
