The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo 2WD AT will be priced at Rs 31.43 lakh ex-showroom (Mumbai). The deliveries of the new variant of the SUV will commence soon.
Similar to the globally sold model, the India-spec Fortuner TRD Sportivo will feature blacked-out elements instead of chrome parts seen on the standard variant of the SUV. It also gets an additional body kit with side skirts and extended chin.
The front fascia of the Fortuner TRD Sportivo sports a blacked-out grille which extends over the bumper and integrates with the air dam. The grille also gets red TRD logo. The fog lamp housing is also blacked-out and gets new skirting.
The interior of the Fortuner TRD Sportivo is also blacked-out with new floor mats and few upgrades. All the changes are done to enhance the sporty look of the SUV, and there are no technical changes.
The Fortuner TRD Sportivo will draw power from the existing 2.8-litre diesel engine which is seen on the standard variant. The diesel motor produces 174bhp and 420Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Toyota has not revealed the launch date for the new Fortuner TRD Sportivo in India. The new variant of the SUV features only cosmetic changes with new body kits. The Fortuner TRD Sportivo will lock horns with the likes of Ford Endeavour, Jeep Compass and Isuzu MU-X.
