Toyota Increases Prices Of Innova And Fortuner

The Japanese company has cited the rise in commodity prices for the hike in prices of Innova and Fortuner. The increase in prices does not affect other models of Toyota sold in India.

"We are facing a challenge in terms of commodity prices, particularly metals, and therefore in order to offset the impact, we have passed it on to the customers," TKM Director and Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, N Raja.

He added that it had increased the prices of its SUV Fortuner by 2 percent, while 1 percent has hiked the Innova prices. The Fortuner retails from Rs 26.6 lakh to Rs 31.86 lakh, while the MPV Innova ranges between Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 21.19 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).

The Toyota Fortuner is available in both petrol and diesel guises. The 2.8-litre four cylinder diesel unit develops 174.33bhp and 420Nm of torque comes mated to either to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The petrol Fortuner is powered by a 2.7-litre four cylinder unit producing 163.60bhp and 245Nm of torque. The motor is offered with the option of a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is available in petrol and diesel models as well. The diesel model is offered in 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre engines. While the 2.4-litre oil burner churns out 147.51bhp and 343Nm of torque, the 2.8-litre unit churns out 171.65bhp and 360Nm of torque.

The diesel 2.4-litre unit is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and the 2.8-litre is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

As for the petrol model of the Toyota Innova Crysta, the MPV is powered by a 2.7-litre powertrain producing 163.60bhp and 245Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated either with a 5-speed gearbox or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

The prices for other models such as Etios series, Corolla sedan, and the premium Camry sedan remain the same.
