2017 Toyota 86 Sports Coupe 860 Special Edition Revealed — The GT86 Just Got Seriously Hot
For those looking for a special edition and other additions over the standard 86 Sports Coupe, Toyota plans to manufacture less than 2,000 of these exclusive models.
Toyota is seeking to move upmarket with its 86 sports car, acquired last year from its old Scion sub-brand, to attract to a wider range of clients with it's 860 Special Edition for 2017.

The Japanese automaker will sell 1,720 of them; 860 painted the Supernova Orange colour, and the other half painted Halo White. Both the cars come with a black racing stripe running through the middle of the body.

The Toyota 86 860 Special Edition gets the thin rear spoiler from the Euro-spec Toyota 86 along with some revisions to its aerodynamics, including an underbody panel.

As for the exterior design, the Toyota 86 860 Special Edition has a new front and rear fascia, 17-inch black chrome alloy wheels, LED fog lights, and restyled fender vents.

On the features front, this higher-end special edition comes with heated front seats in black leather with orange stitching, heated side mirrors, and a smaller but thicker steering wheel in black with orange stitching.

That design language extends to the leather around the shifter and hand brake. There are the push-button start and dual-zone climate control as well.

Each special edition will feature a 4.2-inch multi-information display to show a g-force meter and stopwatch, horsepower and torque curves, engine coolant and oil temperatures, and the fuel efficiency ratings.

The 860 Special Edition with a manual gearbox increases engine output by 5bhp to 204bhp and 211.50Nm of torque from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The body is stiffer with a new rear anti-roll bar, retuned suspensions, and softer springs.
