Tesla Outpaces Ford During First Quarter Of 2017
Tesla has managed to beat Ford in terms of worth in Q1 of 2017, by selling 25,000 vehicles, a new record for Tesla.
Tesla, the American electric carmaker has managed to outpace Ford regarding market cap for the first quarter of 2017. Tesla sold 25,000 units, and the company's market cap stands at $47 billion while Ford's is at $45 billion.

Industry experts expected Ford to post a drop in sales by little over 5 percent, but Ford's sales dropped 7.2 percent, giving Tesla the lead. Tesla, although much smaller as a company compared to Ford, is posting good sales figures.

The 25,000 units sold by Tesla is a new record for the electric carmaker, ahead of manufacturing its first mass market product, the Model 3. Tesla is aiming to sell 50,000 units during the first half of this year and 5,00,000 units by the end of 2018.

The upcoming Tesla Model 3 is expected to sell in huge numbers as the carmaker has already received 3,00,000 reservations for the particular model, in just days after the car was revealed.
