Tesla has stated that the production of the new Model 3 will start as per schedule.
American Electric carmaker Tesla has said that the production of its upcoming Model 3 car is on schedule to meet its kick-off deadline of July.
The news was revealed by Elon Musk's electric car company when it released its fourth quarter 2016 earnings report to shareholders.
Tesla told investors that production of the new Model 3 will commence in July and will be ramped up to full capacity a few months later in September. Tesla also stated that production of battery packs has started at its massive Gigafactory 1 in Nevada.
Tesla reported that its revenue rose in 2016 by 73 percent to $7 billion compared top 2015 and that the company's cash balance grew by $300 million.
