The much anticipated Tata Tigor subcompact sedan is all set to go on sale on March 29, 2017. The Tigor will be the third vehicle based on the company's IMPACT Design philosophy after the Tiago hatchback and the Hexa crossover SUV.
Tata calls the Tigor 'Styleback' for the new design language at the rear. The sedan will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Ford Aspire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent among others in the segment.

Tata Tigor Engine Specifications & Gearbox
Tata Motors is offering the Tigor in both petrol and diesel versions. The petrol Tigor is powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder engine which is capable of producing 83bhp and 114Nm of torque. The petrol mill is mated to the 5-speed manual gearbox.
As for the diesel unit, the Tigor uses the 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder mill which develops 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. The diesel unit of the Tigor comes paired to the 5-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Tigor Dimensions
The Tigor will slot itself in the sub-four-metre compact sedan segment. The Tigor measures 3992mm in length, 1677mm in width and 1537mm in height. The Tigor's wheelbase stands at 2450mm, while the sub-compact sedan clears the ground at 170mm.
While the petrol model of the Tigor weighs at 1062kg, the diesel Tigor is heavier and weighs at 1130kg.
Tata Tigor Features
The Tigor carries forward the front styling of the Tiago; however, the subcompact sedan features blacked out headlamps with projector lights, fog lamps and ORVM integrated LED turn indicators.
The Tigor also comes with wraparound LED tail lamps and a roof mounted stop light. The subcompact sedan sits on 15-inch alloy wheels on the petrol version, while the diesel gets 14-inch wheels.
On the inside, the Tigor's interiors feature the Harman touchscreen infotainment system with eight speakers; AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, you get Android smartphone-based navigation on the Tigor as well as steering mounted audio controls.
Also, the Tigor features electrically adjustable ORVMs, day and night Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM), tilt steering, driver side auto down power window with delay function and much more.
Tata Tigor Interiors
The cabin of the Tigor is similar to the Tiago hatchback featuring a black finished cabin, three-spoke electrically assisted steering wheel and the seats are upholstered in fabric. While the door handles are finished in gloss black, the air vents get exterior coloured inserts on the Tigor. The boot fills at 419 litres on the subcompact sedan.
Tata Tigor Safety Features
The braking duty on the Tata Tigor comes from disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The sedan also gets ABS with EBD, 3-point seatbelt as well as dual front airbags along with central lock and speed sensing auto lock.
