Tata Tiago AMT To Become More Affordable
The Tata Tiago AMT was offered only on the XT variant only, now will be available for the entry level model as well.
Tata Motors launched the Tiago with the Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox on the top variant XZ in March 2017 and was available only in the petrol and not in the diesel model.

With rising demand for the automatic gearbox option, Tata is looking to offer the AMT on the entry-level XT variant of the Tiago hatchback. Team-BHP reports that the company will remove the option on the XZ (Top Variant).

Tata is expected to launch the Tiago AMT XT (XTA) variant in September 2017. It is also reported that Tata will produce 300 units of the Tiago XTA in August and will later increase it to 500 units.

The Tata Tiago XZA was equipped with steering mounted audio and phone controls, ABS with EBD & corner stability control, front fog lamps, rear wiper and defogger, ORVMs with LED turn signals and alloy wheels.

Now, with AMT available only on the XT variant the hatchback will miss out the above features. However, the Tiago AMT will become more affordable for buyers despite missing out some features.

The Tiago XZA was available with a premium of Rs 30,000 over the manual gearbox variant, and Tata is expected to price the Tiago XTA with the same premium over the manual gearbox model.

The Tata Tiago XZA was offered only with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine paired to a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The engine produces 83bhp and 114Nm of torque.

While buyers will miss out on some features which were available on the Tiago XZA variant, the price of the Tiago AMT model will come down and will be more affordable.
