Tata Tiago AMT Variant Details Leaked Ahead Of Launch
The Tata Tiago AMT variant will come in petrol model only, and the diesel model is expected later during the products' life cycle.
Tata Motors will soon launch the Tiago hatchback with an Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT) gearbox. Ahead of its impending launch, new details of the entry-level hatchback's AMT variant details have emerged.

As per the leaked image from Team-BHP, the company's passenger car diagnostics software (TDS) reveals the Tiago AMT will be available in the XT and XZ variants.

The image further shows both the variants are likely to be limited to the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. The diesel model of the Tiago AMT could be introduced later in the hatchback's life cycle.

The report adds that the AMT gearbox is anticipated to be a 5-speed unit sourced from Magnetti Marelli.

The Tata Tiago is based on the new generation platform and is currently offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The engines are from Tata's new family of three-cylinder engines. While the petrol engine is from the Revotron family, the diesel engine is from the Revotorq family.

The Tiago's AMT petrol model is powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder engine producing 84bhp and 114Nm of torque. The engine with the manual gearbox is rated to return a mileage of 23.84km/l; however, there is no confirmation of the mileage figures of the AMT variant.

Once launched, the Tiago AMT will compete with Maruti Celerio AMT and Alto K10 AMT in the entry-level automatic car segment.

As for the pricing, the Tiago AMT variant is expected to be Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 more than the manual gearbox option, which is priced in the range of Rs 3.4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
