Tata Motors Teases First Ever Sports Car For Geneva International Motor Show
Tata Motors is readying a sports car under its sub-brand TAMO for the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. TAMO will act as an open platform for designing future products and services.
Tata Motors is all set to mark its 20th year of participation at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show with a sports car.

The company has used the platform to exhibit its several prototypes and concepts beginning with the Indica in 1998 - the company's first passenger car - as well as the Nano in 2008, among others.

This year all eyes are on the sports car that Tata Motors will reveal on March 7, 2017. The sports car will be the first product to be launched under the company's new sub-brand TAMO that will house core segment models with high-level technologies.

A Tata Motors spokesperson said, "We are gearing up to unveil our soon-to-be-launched product line-up for the mainstream business and our first innovation from TAMO, our new sub-brand."

Commenting on the launch of the new sub-brand TAMO, Tata Motors Managing Director and CEO Guenter Butschek said that the introduction of TAMO would help them co-design India's automotive footprint by taking new technologies and mobility concepts as a new ecosystem.

TAMO will act as an open platform for designing future products and services. The sub-brand is centre to the company's transformation journey 'FutuReady'.
The sports car from TAMO will exhibit the progress made by Tata Motors under its new initiative.

Geneva International Motor Show has also seen Tata Motors revealing Pixel, a city car concept for Europe and Megapixel that indicated the company's future design direction in 2011 and 2012.

Last year, the company had showcased, the popular hatchback TIAGO and the upcoming compact sedan TIGOR, under the codename Kite 5 as well as HEXA Tuff, a personalised variant of the recently launched HEXA.

"Over the last two decades, Tata Motors has showcased a range of path-breaking products and innovative concepts at the Geneva International Motor Show, this year being a very special one," the spokesperson said.
