The SUV has been codenamed as Q501 and it is based on the Monocoque platform. The new SUV could be the first monocoque rival to the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

For the first time, the Q501 codenamed SUV has been spied testing with telemetry equipment attached to the A-pillar of the vehicle and equipped with steel wheels. Which hints that the different body will be designed and will be tested under camouflage livery.

According to reports, the vehicle will be extensively modified to suit the Indian road conditions and to meet the demands of the Indian market. It is expected that the new SUV will carry a price tag of around Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.

The luxury SUV might get a powerful engine and the vehicle will be technologically advanced. Reports claim that the Discovery Sport based SUV has been given a green signal and it should hit the Indian roads by early 2018.
