Tata Motors CV Business Head Ravindra Pisharody Resigns
Tata Motors' commercial vehicle business head, Ravindra Pisharody has resigned due to personal reasons.
India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors' Commercial Vehicle Business Head, Ravindra Pisharody has resigned due to personal reasons.
The Executive Director of the CV business for Tata Motors also resigned from the post of Director of the company. Pisharody's exit comes at a critical time when the company is undergoing a transformation.

Pisharody joined the company as Vice President, Sales and Marketing CV in 2007. He was promoted to the Executive Director position on June 21, 2012. He was also a member of the executive committee.

Tata Motors has also stated that Satish Borwankar a veteran in the company has been promoted as Chief Operating Officer and his term has been extended for two years from July 2017.

Pisharody started some unique initiatives such as the Prima Truck Racing Championship, and he also signed Akshay Kumar as the company's brand ambassador.

Pisharody completely revamped the Tata Motors' commercial vehicle fleet by launching new generation truck range. He also understood the price sensitive market and created affordable trucks under the Signa brand.

Before joining Tata Motors, Pisharody worked at Castrol Limited, a subsidiary company of BP. He also worked at Philips India. He is an alumnus of IIT, Kharagpur and IIM, Kolkata.
