Tata Motors To Hike Prices From January 2018

Home-grown automaker Tata Motors has announced that it will increase the price of its entire product portfolio in India, starting from January 2018.
Tata Motors will increase the prices of its entire passenger vehicle range by up to Rs 25,000, which will come into effect from January 1, 2018. The price hike has been made due to rising input costs.

Currently, the Indian product portfolio of Tata Motors include hatchbacks: Nano, Indica, Bolt and Tiago, sedans: Indigo, Zest and Tigor and SUVs: Sumo Gold, Safari Storme, Nexon and Hexa. All the mentioned products will witness an increase in price from 2018.

President of Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, Mayank Pareek said, "The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors have compelled us to consider the price increase."

Pareek also stated that the company is confident on maintaining the growth trajectory in the Indian market in the coming years with its robust product portfolio like Tiago, Hexa, Tigor and the recently launched Nexon.

Tata Motors also stated that the introductory prices of the Nexon subcompact SUV would end by December 31, 2017. The Tata Nexon was launched in India in September 2017 with prices starting from Rs 5.85 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The compact SUV has been a hit in the country, and the company has already reached the 10,000th production milestone.
