This Variant Of Tata Hexa Is In High Demand
The Hexa automatic variants have received nearly 60 percent of bookings and the waiting period is expected to increase.
Tata Motors has developed the Hexa loaded with features, choice of engines, gearboxes and drivetrains, also the choice of seating layout of six or seven seaters. With the Hexa, Tata Motors wants to offer the best in the premium SUV segment.
The Hexa is available in three variants: XE, XM and XT, while the base XE variant is offered with a different state of tune engine and 5-speed manual gearbox, the XM and XT is available with a higher torque of 400Nm with the choice of both manual and automatic gearbox.
As per information from the dealers, the Hexa automatic variants are in high demand and nearly 60 percent opting for the Hexa automatic variants -- XMA and XTA. This could increase the waiting period as well.
At the launch on January 18, 2017, Tata Motors said that the waiting period for the Hexa will be a minimum of 2 months. With the high demand for the automatic variants, the waiting period compared to the manual variants could be more.
The Hexa XE base variant is powered by the 2.2-litre Varicor engine churning out 148bhp and 320Nm of torque paired with the 5-speed manual gearbox.
The XE and XT trims are powered by the same unit; however, it develops 154bhp and 400Nm of torque and comes with the choice of either the 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Tata Motors' foray into the premium SUV segment with the Hexa was launched with starting price tag of Rs 11.99 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The top-of-the-line variant XT 4x4 is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh.
The Hexa will compete with Mahindra XUV500 and the pricing is competitive as well. The Hexa also comes with the option of six or seven seater layout, this will help compete with the Toyota Innova Crysta as well.
