SsangYong To Introduce World’s First Touch-Operated Window System
We can expect SsangYong to introduce Touch Screen Window System in its next-generation Rexton SUV.
Mahindra-owned South Korean brand SsangYong is working on a touch-operated electrical window system for its vehicles. Several innovative products are being developed by manufacturers all over the world at this point in time but among SsangYong will be the first to introduce this window system in the world.
The manufacturer didn't opt for a fancy name for this new technology, instead, they call it ‘Touch Screen Window System'. SsangYong also claims that it is the world's first automobile manufacturer to develop this technology.
The marque also stated that the touch operated window system is one of the many new technologies SsangYong is working on. The new technology helps driver and passengers in the vehicle to open or close vehicle windows by touching a window.
Back in 2015, Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover also said that it is working on touch-operated windows, but, this technology still hasn't seen the light till now. So, the South Korean marque will be the first automaker to offer this technology on its vehicles before the end of 2017.
Speaking about this technology to a South Korean news agency, Choi Jong-Sik, President of Ssangyong Motor said, "The Company will continue to develop next-generation products that will meet the needs of its customers while setting a new trend by encouraging creative ideas and innovative research."
We can expect SsangYong to introduce Touch Screen Window System in its next-generation Rexton SUV. The new SUV will be based on LIV-2 (Limitless Interface Vehicle), a concept showcased by SsangYong at the Paris Motor Show 2016.
