Spy Pics: Renault Kaptur Spotted Testing
Renault Kaptur was spotted testing on the Indian roads ahead of its launch by this year's festive season.
French automaker Renault is testing the Kaptur SUV on the Indian roads for quite a while now. This time the SUV was spotted testing with a Hyundai Creta.
IAB has spotted the Renault Kaptur testing with heavy camouflage. The front fascia of the SUV features LED DRLs, LED fog lights and LED projector headlights. But the interior of the SUV has not been revealed.
The overall design of the Kaptur is identical to the global-spec model. The Kaptur is based on the same platform which also underpins the Duster SUV. So, localising the model will be easy for Renault.
The India-spec Kaptur is likely to draw power from a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol motor churns out 105bhp, and the oil burner is available in two-tune options - 84bhp and 108bhp.
The Renault Kaptur is expected to go on sale in the Indian market by this year's festive season. The SUV is likely to carry a price tag of around Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom.

The SUV segment is growing at a rapid pace in the Indian market. Renault has already teased success with its Duster SUV; now the company is set to launch the Kaptur in India.
