Skoda Yeti Discontinued In India To Make Way For Kodiaq
Skoda India has discontinued the Yeti SUV in the country to make way for the all-new Kodiaq SUV. The Yeti will be replaced by new small SUV named as Karoq.
Skoda India has axed the Yeti SUV from its product portfolio in the country. Launched back in 2010, the SUV failed to make an impression in the Indian market.

The Skoda Yeti received a mid-life facelift in 2014. The front end of the SUV was radically changed in the facelifted avatar. The large round fog lamps were gone, and the front bumper and grille were redesigned.

But still, the SUV did not perform well in the Indian market. The lack of muscular looks and high pricing kept the buyers away from the SUV. Although, the Yeti was a practical solution for the urban environment with its compact size.

In the past six months, the highest sales of Yeti was recorded in October 2016, with five units of SUV sold. The company managed to sell only two units each in December and March.

The Yeti will be replaced by another small SUV named as Karoq. The Czech automaker has already revealed the SUV. The Karoq will hit the European market by the end of 2017. The SUV is likely to enter India in 2018.

But for now, Skoda is aiming to ramp up its sales figures with the launch of the new Kodiaq SUV. The SUV will be offered in a 7-seater configuration in the Indian market.

The Kodiaq has been added to the Indian website and dealers are accepting bookings for the same. The deliveries of the SUV is likely to commence in November 2017. When launched the Kodiaq will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
