Skoda Rapid Updated With Two New Features

As per the images from Autosarena, the new features on the Rapid will be available in its top variant Style. The above additions have been made to the diesel as well as petrol models. It is also being said that the updated Style variant get a price increase of around Rs. 35,000.

Skoda hasn't updated the feature list on its official website. However, media reports suggest that the updated models have started reaching dealerships and the deliveries have already commenced.

The features of the Style variant of the Rapid comes standard with chrome trim on steering wheel, projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 6.5-inch display for the infotainment system with Mirrorlink technology, cruise control, Automatic front wipers, amber glow footwell illumination along with cooled glove box.

The Skoda Rapid is powered by a 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine which churns out 104bhp of power and 153Nm of torque, while the diesel model has a 1.5-litre TDI unit developing 108.5bhp and 250Nm of peak torque.

Both the powertrains come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Skoda offers automatic gearbox on the petrol variant with a 6-speed automatic, while the diesel model is available with a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

A disc brake handles the braking duties up front and a drum setup in the rear while ABS is standard across the variants. Hill Hold Control is offered only in the automatic model while Electronic Stability Control is available only with the 7-speed DSG box paired to the diesel engine.

The colour options on the Skoda Rapid is available in Cappucino Biege, Silk Blue, Carbon Steel, Flash Red, Brilliant Silver and Candy White.

The new Skoda Rapid rivals the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and Nissan Sunny.
