Skoda has sold out the first batch of 250 units of the recently launched Octavia RS.

Skoda has sold out the first batch of 250 units of the Octavia RS in India. The Skoda Octavia RS was launched in India on the first of September bearing a price tag of Rs 24.62 lakh (ex-showroom).

Jan Repa, Head of Strategic Product Planning, Skoda Auto India confirmed the news to ET Auto and also revealed when the next batch of the Octavia RS would enter India. Repa told ET Auto, "We have already sold out the first batch of the Skoda Octavia RS 230. The next batch will come early-2018."

The Skoda Octavia RS is the fastest car from Skoda to go on sale in India since the Czech carmaker made its debut in the country in November 2001.

The Octavia RS is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 227bhp at 5,500 - 6,200rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1,500 - 4,500rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed DSG automatic gearbox that transmits the power to the front wheels.
