Euro NCAP Crash Test: The Skoda Kodiaq Scores Five Stars For Safety
Skoda Kodiak has been awarded 5 stars for safety by Euro NCAP after a series of crash tests. Here;s how the SUV faired.
The Euro NCAP recently tested the Skoda Kodiaq SUV, and the true to its build quality, the vehicle scored five stars. The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to make its debut in India soon and is already on sale in a few international markets.
The Skoda Kodiaq is based on Volkswagen's MQB platform and will be available in India with a 5 and 7-seater configuration.

Speaking about the crash test, the Ambition variant of the Kodiaq was tested, which is equipped with dual front airbags, knee airbags, belt pre-tensioners, AEB pedestrian airbags, ISOFIX, and an airbag cut-off switch to name a few.

During the frontal collision, the passenger compartment remained stable, while providing good protection to the knees and femurs for both, the driver and passenger.

Even the side barrier tests proved no match for the Kodiaq, as the SUV scored full points and provided complete protection.

The head restraints and seats provided the driver and occupants good protection against whiplash, during rear-end collision test. The rear seats, including the third row, provided marginal protection.

The Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with autonomous emergency braking which works at low speeds, proving to be a lifesaver during the crash test.

Skoda Kodiaq Safety Ratings As Per NCAP:
- Adult Occupant: 92 percent with 35.3 points
- Child Occupant: 77 percent with 38.3 points
- Pedestrian: 71 percent with 30 points
- Safety Assist: 54 percent with 6.5 points
