Czech automaker Skoda is all set to launch its first big SUV, the Kodiaq in the Indian market.
Czech automaker Skoda is all set to launch its first big SUV, the Kodiaq in the Indian market. Now, the launch details of the SUV has been revealed.
IAB reports that Skoda will launch the Kodiaq SUV in India in September 2017. The full-fledged SUV has been already added to the Skoda India website, and it displays 'Coming Soon'.
Several dealerships across the country are accepting pre-orders with a booking amount ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 51,000. The Kodiaq will be Czech automaker's first three-row SUV in India with a 7-seat configuration.
As per emerging reports, the Kodiaq will be available in two engine options, a 2-litre petrol engine and a 2-litre diesel motor. The petrol engine produces 178bhp, and the oil burner is offered in two tune options, 148bhp and 187bhp.
The transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive system could be offered on the top-of-the-range model.
Drivespark Thinks!
Skoda had the Yeti compact SUV in the Indian market, but it did not deliver the expected results. So, the automaker is back with its full-size SUV, and the utility vehicle segment might work for the Czech manufacturer.
