Skoda Element Concept Is An Electric Beach Buggy
The Skoda Element concept in based on the Citigo hatchback powered by an 18.7kwh lithium-ion battery which helps run the buggy for 159km.
Every year, Skoda reveals a concept vehicle designed and developed by students attending the brand's vocational school.
And this year the students have not disappointed. They have created a beach buggy based on the Skoda Citigo. But that does not stop with the Citigo hatchback, referred as the Element concept; it is an electric vehicle which emphasises on cleaner environment.

The concept represents about 1,500 hours of work by 22 trainee students. The project began in October 2016, and as you can tell from the images, the Skoda Element is a strict two-seater with jacked-up suspension and no roof.
To convert the Citigo into the Element, the students removed the roof, designed custom body panels, acquired a new boot with a diamond-plated cover. Students from nine different fields including painters, electricians, mechanics, and logistics specialists were part of the extensive customisation process.

Skoda did not reveal the specification of the funky beach buggy but confirmed the car is powered by an electric motor that produces 80bhp, which helps the beach buggy travel close to 159km. The electric motor draws power from an 18.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

The Element is the fourth Skoda concept to be developed by students since 2014, and past projects include the Atero Coupe, the CitiJet, and the FUNstar pickup.

DriveSpark Thinks!
With electrification reaching the mass market vehicles, a beach buggy with electric powertrain is the way forward. Skoda Element concept with an outlook of a beach buggy is interesting and puts a fun factor to the otherwise serious electric vehicles available in the market.
