Shell Inaugurates Technology Centre In Bangalore
Oil and lubricant firm Shell has opened its new Technology Centre in Bangalore. The newly inaugurated tech hub can house up to 1,500 employees.
Oil and lubricant manufacturer Shell has inaugurated its new technology centre in Bangalore. The custom built 52-acre technology hub can accommodate 1,500 employees.

In an official statement, Shell said that the Bangalore Shell Technology Centre is one of the three most important tech hubs in the company's global network of R&D centres. The other two centres are located in Netherlands and USA.

The Shell Technology Centre is home to a wide array of technology. And has expertise in the fields such as liquefied natural gas, subsurface modelling, data analysis, engineering design, bitumen, distillation, water technology and enhanced computational research.

Experts at Shell Technology Centre Bangalore will work in close collaboration with specialists from industrial partners, universities and institutes. These partnerships will help in speeding up the development of new technology.

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the technology centre in Bangalore. Pradhan said, "Shell is developing a waste to fuel technology called IH2 at the Technology Centre in Bengaluru that takes only a few minutes to achieve what nature requires a million years to do."

Shell's Projects and Technology Director, Harry Brekelmans said, "We consider R&D a fundamental part of Shell's past and future success. Therefore, we continue to invest in people, projects and facilities, such as this high-tech hub Successful innovation, however, is more than just making balanced investments."

Chairman of Shell Companies in India, Nitin Prasad said, "The IH2 - waste to fuel - technology that we are currently piloting here in Bangalore, among other automotive solutions in fuels and lubricants, is an example of that vision coming to life."
